New Delhi: The Chairman of Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR) Y Sudershan Rao is 'annoyed' with the government after the emoluments he asked for was reportedly rejected by the Union Human Resource Development (HRD) ministry.
Sources sad, the ministry is heading for a confrontation with Rao over his 'rising demands' in recent past.
Concerned over Rao's compensations claim of nearly Rs 1.25 lakh and a guest house, the HRD minister Smriti Irani has reportedly refuses to entertain his demands.
It was learnt that the kind of emoluments and facilities asked by Rao is beyond the purview of the ministry in terms of the position he holds. Sources said there is an official hurdles in meeting his wish.
In 2014, Rao's appointment as the chief of ICHR has raised questions about the approach of NDA government in terms of his past research work.
Rao, former Professor of Kakatiya University in Warangal, hails from Kollapur in Mahabubnagar district of Telangana. He retired from Kakatiya University as a head of the History department.
