MAHBUBNAGAR: In the wake of the blistering attack made by TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu on him here on Saturday, TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao has said he is prepared to resign as Mahbubnagar MP and seek re-election.Addressing an election meeting at Kollapur in the district on Sunday, Rao took Naidu’s allegation that Rao was a non-performer as an MP very seriously. He termed chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and the opposition leader as impediments to Telangana’s efforts at attaining statehood. In spite of a hot summer a large number of people attended the meeting and lustily cheered the TRS chief’s emotional speech which was laced with sarcasm directed at the Congress and the TDP.Rao accepted TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu challenge and said his party was reay to seek a fresh mandate all over Telangana and asked the TDP chief if he had any guts to ask his party MLAs from Telangana to resign and seek fresh election.“Quitting the Assembly or Parliament is not new to TRS leaders, Can the TDP leaders do the same?’’ Rao posed to Naidu. The TDP chief remarked on Saturday that the TRS chief got elected to the Lok Sabha from Mahbubnagar in 2009 because of TDP’s support.“Rao’s majority was slender _ just 20,000 votes.Had the TDP fielded its candidate, he would won with a margin of two lakh votes,” Naidu claimed. The TRS chief alleged that Naidu thwarted Telangaana state by changing his stand.Chief Minister N Kirankumar Reddy was doing his most to defeat the Telangana forces in the byelections.“Jupally Krishna Rao resigned from the Kiran Kumar Reddy cabinet and is seeking re- election from Kollapur on Telangana plank. But another Telangana minister, DK Aruna, was doing all she can to see that Juppally was defeated, Rao said and exuded confidence that Jupally Krishna Rao would win by a huge margin.Rao said the TRS would fight for Krishna water supply to the Kollapur Assembly constituency.
