In Tribute To Actress Aparna, Bengaluru Metro Plays Special Message On Trains
A day after her passing, on July 12, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited decided to honour Aparna Vastarey and paid tribute to her.

Kannada actress and anchor, Aparna Vastarey has been suffering from lung cancer for the last two years. Her demise on July 11 left the industry mourning for the loss of talent at the age of just 57. Reportedly, the actress was in the fourth stage of the cancer. The actress was a well-known TV personality whose voice was so loved by everyone that the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) recorded her voice. The same voice was used for announcements of passengers boarding and alighting the Namma (Bengaluru) Metro. Now, as per the latest update, she will be the voice for upcoming metro lines as well.

Aparna Vastarey was the voice behind the metro announcements in Bengaluru. Now, as per reports, after her death, she will continue to make her presence known with her voice which is reportedly going to be used in the upcoming Metro Yellow Line. Her voice is going to be adopted by the yellow line of the metro with the help of Artificial Intelligence technology.

A day after her passing, on July 12, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) decided to honour Aparna Vastarey and paid tribute to her by broadcasting a special message across all metro stations throughout the day. Further, they shared a post on X, formerly known as Twitter and wrote, “She has the honour of conducting so many Namma Metro programs. Her command over Kannada language and pronunciation were both mesmerizing. Her voice in Namma metro trains is forever alive. Namma Metro misses her in all our future endeavours. May her Soul Rest in Peace.”

Apart from metro stations, she is also the popular voice in many bus stands. Reportedly, the actress had once revealed how she got the opportunity to be chosen as a voice for Namma Metro. As per reports, she was surprised to think about her connection to the Bengaluru Metro. She recalled that about 10-12 years ago, she had received a call requesting her voice sample for the metro. At that time, she was not very aware of it. She read a paragraph from both an English and a Kannada newspaper and sent it. She later explained that her voice was chosen.
