Islamabad: Senior citizens from India and Pakistan will be able to obtain visa on arrival at the Atari-Wagah joint checkpost effective coming Tuesday (January 15), Daily Times reported on Friday.
A separate visa counter has been established at Atari-Wagah joint checkpost to facilitate people aged 65 years and above for issuance of visa to them at the border. The visitors would be allowed a maximum stay of 45 days and visit to five cities.
The step is part of implementation of a new liberal visa regime following the operationalisation last month of a bilateral visa agreement.
The new provisions cover the facility of entering and exiting from different immigration check posts and exemption from reporting to police.
The new agreement replaces the previous one which had been signed in 1974 by both the countries.
