India's LeT coordinator, Abu Umar killed in J&K

New Delhi: Top Lashker-e-Toiba commander Abu Umar alias Khalid was killed in a gunbattle in Doda district early on Wednesday morning.

A self-styled commander and all India coordinator of Pakistan-based LeT, Abu Umar was killed in joint operation by Doda police and Rashtriya Rifles at Bhaderwah.

Umar was responsible for the killing of Deputy Superintendent of Police Shailey Singh during an operation in Baderwah area last month.

The issue of terrorist-police nexus in the state was exposed after the killing of Singh and subsequent escape of militants from the security forces cordon.
