New Delhi: The prime suspect in Sheena Bora murder case, Indrani Mukerjea has been hospitalised again as she is suspected to have dengue fever. Her platelet count has come down dramatically.
Jail authorities have informed the court that Mukherjea has been suffering from dengue for the past seven days.
Indrani was hospitalised earlier this month in an unconscious state. A probe by IG (prison) had also rejected the possibility of drug overdose, poisoning or suicide bid.
"There was no overdose, nor any poison. Her condition could have worsened as she had briefly stopped taking medicines and was suffering from weakness," said Inspector General of Prisons Bipin Kumar Singh, adding that Indrani, the prime accused in Sheena murder case, had a history of fainting.
She is in judicial custody and lodged at Byculla prison. She was arrested on August 25 for the alleged April 2012 murder of her 24-year-old daughter from an earlier marriage. Sheena was allegedly kidnapped from outside National College in Bandra and strangled to death in a car by Indrani, her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and driver Shyam Rai.
