Depressed with parents rejecting her proposal to marry the person she loved, an Intermediate student of committed suicide by hanging herself to a tree at her house at Aniviganipalle village of Kuppam mandal on Friday morning.
The deceased, Nandini (18), a senior Intermediate student, was in love with one Shankaran for the last two years.
Nandini told her parents about her relationship and requested them to get her married to Shankaran.
With Manohar, father of Nandini, denying to the proposal, the latter hung herself from a tree in the backyard of her house, the police said, adding that a suicide note was found inside a book.
