Two women Home Guards working at Kavali sub-jail have complained to DSP P Indira against their superintendent. They have charged the jail superintendent of sexually harassing them.
According to Indira, around 10.30 pm on Sunday night the two women Home Guards working in Kavali Sub-Jail came to her and lodged a complaint against their jail superintendent G Madhu Babu saying that they have been harassed sexually for the last few months.
As they refused to succumb to his advances, he started harassing them using “double meaning words” during work and even did not hesitate to abuse them whenever he found the opportunity. The women were being traumatised as there was no way to resist him, as they were in a state of insecurity and feared that they would lose their jobs.
They said it had became routine for the superintendent to use double-meaning words and harass them even in the presence of their colleagues.
In their complaint the women home guards said that they had no other alternative but to bring the issue to the notice of the higher ups in the police department, for initiating action against the superintendent.
Indira said that she had ordered a departmental enquiry to find out the truth. She further added that she had reported the matter to the DSP Home Guards.
