Terrorists based across the border have increased infiltration bids as winter is approaching.
Srinagar: An Army jawan was killed during fresh firing in Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir. Army said that firing took place when it tried to challenge an infiltration attempt, adding that they have successfully foiled the bid.
The incident comes days after a similar attempt was made by terrorists alleged to be backed by Pakistan in Keran. The 15-day long Keran operation had even stalled of talks with Pakistan.
Militants attempted to cross the LoC in Kacchal, which is 15 Km east of Shala Bato. The Army fired at the infiltrators forcing them to retreat.
