'Joker' tanks everywhere, but a huge hit in Fiji
'Joker' may be a disaster of epic proportions everywhere, but it's breaking records in Fiji.

New Delhi: 'Joker' may be a disaster of epic proportions everywhere, but it's breaking records in Fiji and is a bigger hit than even Shah Rukh Khan's 'Don 2' there, said film trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

The overseas Box Office report for Joker is far from promising according to the collection figures Adarsh tweeted.

New Zealand: Thu NZ$ 1,480, Fri NZ$ 6,303, Sat NZ$ 6,772. Total: NZ$ 14,555 (Rs 6.49 lakhs).

Australia: Thu A$ 4,317, Fri A$ 12,884, Sat A$ 15,475. Total: A$ 32,676 (Rs 18.73 lakhs)

USA: Fri estimates $ 28,500 [Rs 15.82 lacs] from 74 locations.

UK: Fri £ 24,460, Sat £ 32,027 [10 screens yet to report]. Total: £ 56,487 (Rs 49.76 lakhs)

But director Shirish Kunder was unfazed. "It is easy for me to do what everyone else is doing or what is working. But I'll always choose to attempt something new with every film. I'll continue with my efforts to make original films and bring novel stories in a mainstream format. Remakes for now do not interest me," he tweeted.

Adarsh joked: "Ramgopal Varma Ki Aag and Joker... both released on 31 August. Strange coincidence!" Aag tanked badly at the Box Office. 'Joker' starred Sonakshi Sinha, Akshay Kumar and Sreyas Talpade among others.
