BANGALORE: The hearing of bail application of former minister Katta Subramanya Naidu, his corporator son Katta Jagadish and Itasca managing director S V Srinivas, in the KIADB scam took an entire day in the High Court on Thursday, but still was adjourned for further hearing till August 22.Lokayukta submitted the 16,000 page chargesheet filed in 26 volumes to the court and in the morning senior counsel for the petitioner C V Nagesh submitted that though there are others involved in the case, Naidu alone was targeted. 33 members of the high-power committee headed by then chief minister gave the orders for land acquisition and sanction of land; Naidu was only a member of the committee.He added though the villagers never complained against him, the Lokayukta DySP initiated a suo motu complaint against him. Later, senior counsel for Lokayukta M T Nanaiah averred that grants of compensation have been made without documents and the state exchequer has lost crores.BSY bail plea: HC notice to LokayuktaThe HC on Thursday issued notices to Lokayukta in two cases involving former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa - the ones filed by JD(S) leader Y S V Datta accusing him of receiving kickbacks in the Upper Bhadra project, and that filed by advocate Sirajin Basha accusing the former CM of illegal denotification of land. The court adjourned hearing of the two bail applications till August 22.
