Kites to mark Kochi skyline

KOCHI: The city will soon witness a colourful sky as the third edition of the Kerala Kite Flying Competition is all set to kickstart on January 21 and 22. The two-day event at Kuzhupilly Beach will have two sections - kite flying and kite making. The kite making category is further divided into - social message kite, innovative kite and the largest kite.Union Minister of State for Food KV Thomas will inaugurate the competition on January 19. MLAs Hibi Eden and S Sharma, District Collector P I Sheik Pareeth, Kite Life Foundation president Rajesh Nair and secretary Suresh Babu will be present at the function. An illuminated kite will be flown on January 19 and 20 as part of the programme.
