The marines are seeking withdrawal of the FIR filed against them over shooting dead two Indian fishermen in February.
New Delhi: The Kerala High Court is all set to hear petitions filed by the two accused Italian Navy personnel on Friday. The two Navy guards stand accused of shooting down two Indian fishermen off the Kochi coast in February allegedly fearing them to be pirates.
The marines are seeking withdrawal of the FIR filed against them.
Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has asserted that the FIR filed by Kerala Police in the case is 'quite strong' and there is no attempt to weaken it.
Chandy rejected criticism in certain quarters that the FIR was weak and said it was prepared after gathering all available evidence.
