Kokila wants Dhirubhai Memorial to be a tourist spot
The Memorial includes a bungalow where Dhirubhai Ambani's family lived as tenants, which he later purchased in 2001 and renamed it as "Dhirubhai No Delo".

Chorwad: The matriarch of the Ambani family, Kokilaben, on Friday expressed her desire to see the Dhirubhai Hirachand Ambani Memorial (DHAM) appear on the tourist radar in Gujarat.

"Efforts are on to tie up with the Gujarat government to make the memorial a tourist destination," Kokilaben told mediapersons after dedicating the memorial for public viewing in Chorwad.

The DHAM includes a bungalow where Dhirubhai Ambani's family lived as tenants, which he later purchased in 2001 and renamed it as "Dhirubhai No Delo".

The memorial has three sections, a picture gallery, the old residence of Dhirubhai and an auditorium. A special gallery exhibits 108 photographs depicting Dhirubhai's life journey, both professional and personal, while his old dwelling has been arranged the way it was when he used to live in the house.

Reacting to a question about the importance of the house in her life, Kokilaben said, "I have very special feeling for the house." She said this was the place where she spent initial years after her marriage to Dhirubhai.

Kokilaben further said the memorial became all the more special as the entire Ambani family, including Mukesh and Anil (sons) came together with their families to inaugurate it on December 28 last year, on the 80th birth anniversary of Dhirubhai.

The memorial was inaugurated by Ambani's family guru Ramesh Bhai Oza in presence of entire family including Anil and Mukesh and Dhirubhai's two daughters Dipti Solgaonkar and Neena Kothari.

"It was Dhirubhai's wish to convert this house into a memorial," she added. The auditorium in the memorial, with a capacity of 24 persons, will screen short films on Dhirubhai's life, Kokilaben said, adding it will inspire the young people to work hard, like Dhirubhai did to achieve success.

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) Group President (corporate communications) Parimal Nathwani said an entry fee of Rs 2 will be charged from each visitor to the DHAM.
