Hyderabad: The dissolved Indian Hockey Federation (IHF) supremo KPS Gill finally got support from some quarters after the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) permitted him to attend all the Federation meetings till 2010 as a council member.
AHF Secretary General P Alagendra made the announcement after the Federation's 49th Council Meeting in Hyderabad on Thursday.
"Gill is one of the Vice Presidents of AHF. He was elected in AHF's last Congress in 2006 and is entitled to hold the post till 2010 as all the Council members tenure ends that year," Alagendra said after the meeting.
"As per the Federation's guidelines, he (KPS Gill) is eligible to attend all the meetings of AHF as council member," he said.
Clearing all speculation regarding his participation in the meeting, Gill on Thursday attended the 49th council session of AHF. However, he refused to interact with the mediapersons.
Alagendra also made it clear that although Gill participated in the meeting, the AHF was not interacting with him regarding the game's administration in India.
"We are dealing with the Indian Olympic Association-appointed ad-hoc committee that is looking after hockey in India and we would continue to do so, until and unless we receive any direction from the competent authority," he stated.
