K'taka: CBI asks for BSY's transcripts
CBI wants transcripts of answers made by the former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa on illegal mining.

Bangalore: The CBI has requested the state Legislature to provide transcripts of answers made by the former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa on illegal mining in the House.

Confirming the CBI’s request, sources in the Secretariat said that they would consider giving the transcripts after verifying whether there is any provision to share these transcripts. “All transcripts become properties of the Legislature. We are not clear whether such information could be shared with the investigating agencies or not,” the source said.

It may be recalled that the Apex Court on May 11 directed the CBI to investigate charges against Yeddyurappa that his family-run Prerana Trust had received kickbacks from South West Mining Company, a subsidiary of the steel major Jindal group in return for expediting the mining leases of company for iron ore during his tenure as chief minister from May 30, 2008 to July 31, 2011.
