RAMANATHAPURAM: The five fishermen, who were reported missing at sea on July 30, were rescued by the Sri Lankan Navy and handed over to the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) personnel at the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) on Monday.ICG sources said that a number of fishermen had set out for fishing in mechanised boats on July 30.One of the boats ran aground at the Thalaimannar coast in Sri Lankan waters on July 31. The Lankan Navy had rescued them and informed the Indian High Commission in Colombo.  Based on the information, an ICG team proceeded to the IMBL and received the five fishermen and their damaged boat from the Sri Lankan Navy.  Later, they were handed over to fisheries department officials.
