Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that he did not delay the flight to New York.

New Delhi: Denying allegations against him, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday said that he did not delay the flight to New York.

"The allegation that I forced delay of the flight to New York is false and misleading" said Fadnavis.

Earlier on Tuesday, an Air India flight to US was held up for 50 minutes in Mumbai after Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis forgot to bring his new passport, sources said.

According to sources, the Chief Minister's aide brought his old passport to the airport. An official was then sent to his residence to collect the new passport.

The international flight AI 191 was supposed to depart around 1:30 AM.

Meanwhile, Air India has issued a statement on the issue, "The flight, AI 191 of 29th June, 2015 was delayed by a total of 57 minutes. The delay was partly due to technical/operational reasons, and also the ATC."
