New Delhi: If the first half of the year belonged to Salman Khan then the second half is going to be of Shah Rukh Khan. The promotion of 'Don 2' has started while the campaign for 'RA.One' is in full swing.
The makers of 'Don 2' have initiated a full-fledged campaign to popularise Don's persona with witty one liners titled 'Don says'.
Since some years filmmakers have started the trend of creative marketing which fetches more attention towards their films. This time Ridesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, makers of 'Don 2' have come up with an innovative idea of releasing one tongue in cheek Don quote on each Friday for 11 weeks starting from October 14. These quotes will be simultaneously released across all mediums including television, print, radio, internet and the mobile platform.
The idea is to get the audiences to relate to Don's attitude and mannerism. This concept lays the tracks for all the fans to get familiar with his one liners and be able to use them as part of their daily verbiage. In the movie, Don's character is known for his suave attitude, charisma, style and his witty one liners.
Commenting on this strategy Farhan Akhtar says, " 'Don Says' is a re-introduction for the audience to Don's philosophy of life and his opinion on people who are either with him or against him."
Ritesh Sidhwani adds, "Don's character is known for his style, personality and attitude and with 'Don Says' we are just reiterating the same. Even in the earlier 'Don' there were a few dialogues that became very iconic and are remembered till date. So with 'Don Says' there will be a new quote released every week which are witty and go with Don’s persona".
