VIJAYAWADA: A caste panchayat allegedly claimed the life of a man at Pottipadu village of Unguturu mandal in Krishna district on Tuesday night.According to information, Gutteti Nagabhushanam (56), a resident of the village died of cardiac arrest after caste elders did not allow him to go to hospital.Nagabhushanam had been summoned before the panchayat on Tuesday after an auto driver Koneru Anil, complained that he had beaten up by Nagabhushnam.The caste elders held the latter guilty and ordered him to tender apology to Anil by holding his feet and also pay a `1,000 fine.Opposing the decision, Nagabhushanam said he would move court and made an attempt to leave the place.But he was reportedly pushed and beaten by some people gathered there.Following this, he developed pain in the heart and fell unconscious.But the caste elders did not allow his family members to shift him to hospital.After sometime, they managed to reach a hospital at Gannavaram.But the doctors declared Nagabhushanam brought dead.Speaking to Express, Gannavaram chief inspector N Krishnachaitanya said they had received a complaint on Wednesday morning from the family members of Nagabhushanam and investigation is on
