HYDERABAD: A class VIII drop-out from Maharashtra, who duped several aspiring unemployed youth promising jobs in Wipro Technologies at Bangalore was nabbed on Sunday by Task Force sleuths.The accused with the help of his two absconding associates conducted telephonic interviews with job aspirants as ‘HR managers’ of Wipro Technologies and gave the candidates fake offer letters, police said.The nabbed 31-year K Ravi, is a native of Thane in Maharashtra and a class VIII drop-out.Ravi came to the city in 2007 and initially did real estate business.Due to the slump in real estate, he had to shut it down.In the meantime, Ravi came in contact with a person from Bangalore, Rajasekhar through his friend Vijender Reddy.Through Rajasekhar, Ravi came in contact with the other accused, Hamed and the trio decided to dupe job seekers on the pretext of providing placements in MNCs claiming they were associated with HR heads of the companies.“Rajasekhar and Hamed acted as HR managers of Wipro Technologies, Bangalore as part of their plan,” Task Force deputy commissioner of police Ch Ramchander said.Ravi approached unemployed persons and obtained their bio-data and phone numbers and sent them to Bangalore on the pretext of getting a job in Wipro.When the candidates arrived in Bangalore, the other accused took telephonic interviews of them.“The trio collected more than `12 lakh from 10 candidates as ‘caution deposit’ with Wipro and also issued fake offer letters,’’ Ramchander said.
