Man held for feigning to be cop

KOCHI: The police on Tuesday caught a man allegedly feigning to be part of a police squad. The man was trying to extort articles from a passenger at the Aluva railway station. "The passenger, a native of Maharashtra, was carrying certain silver articles with him. The culprit, claiming to be from the police squad started threatening him. The police at the railway station grew suspicious and caught him,"said North Railway Police SubInspector, C Vinod.The accused is Sreejith, 32, from Kanjoor near Kalady. "The accused does not have any previous track record in crime," police said.
