An unidentified visually-challenged man was run over by a train on Wednesday in Angamaly.
The incident took place at 10.40 am when the Kannur-Alappuzha Express, halted at Angamaly railway station, started to move.
According to police, the deceased aged around 55 was a native of Tamil Nadu. He was trying to board the train when it started to move from the station. The passengers pulled the chain. But he died on the spot.
The train was delayed by 35 minutes owing to the mishap. The police said the man was a regular singer in trains. The dead body was later taken to the General Hospital.
According to police, the body will be kept at the Ernakulam General Hospital for three days for identification. Angamaly police have registered a case.
