KOCHI: It is alleged that a Self-Financing Medical College in Thiruvananthapuram had sought Rs 80 lakh as capitation fee for admission to a post-graduate course.The complaint submitted by Dr Nawas before the Admission Supervisory Committee for Professional Colleges headed by Justice P A Mohammed states that an additional Rs 5 lakh was sought for the mediator. It was also alleged that the examination conducted for the admission to post-graduate courses in some self-financing colleges was just an eyewash as rates were being fixed even before the examinations - between Rs 80 lakh and Rs 1 crore.The Admission Supervisory Committee has asked the management for explanation.The management and the complainant have been asked to attend the committee meet scheduled for April 18.
