MYSORE: In a bid to ensure hospitality and attract high-end domestic and foreign tourists, Dasara Committee released ‘Dasara Gold Card-2011’ at the Mysore Railway Station on Thursday.The special privilege card for Rs. 6,000 will enable the buyer to experience Dasara uniquely. Gold Card holders will have free entry, special treatment, including special seating, at all venues on all nine days of the Dasara festivities.District in-charge Minister S A Ramadas, who released Gold Cards at Mysore Railway Station, said that 500 cards will be sold and entry will be for two persons to prominent tourist spots. The organisers have also planned free seating for 1,000 foreign tourists and introduced tourism single circuit ticket, which is also available online.Ramadas said that around 40 house owners have offered home stay facility during Dasara in and around the city. Tourism Department officials and Dasara Committee will inspect, select houses and fix the prices to extend the hospitality to visitors.The Dasara Committee that has started screening Dasara clippings on Mysore-Bangalore, Chamundi, Tipu, Mysore-Shimoga and Mysore-Dharwad Express trains has called a meeting of all channel heads to ask them to give free live coverage. When asked about the non-cooperation of BJP legislators and leaders in the festivities, he maintained that many of them are busy with Koppal bypoll.Deputy Commissioner P S Vastrad said that the police department’s information centres have been opened and many adventure sports, including bicycle race, will be held.
