BHUBANESWAR: In a bizarre incident, a middle-aged man attacked three youths mistaking them for his enemies. Of the three, two suffered deep cuts on their throats and are in a critical state. The assailant, Narayan Prusty, has been arrested. The incident occurred at Behera Sahi under Nayapalli police limits on Saturday night. Police said, Prusty had a tiff with a group on Saturday morning and the two sides had engaged in a clash. Prusty who was nursing a grudge spotted Deepak Sahu, Rabindra Barik and Sarbeswar Das in the neighbourhood later in the night and mistook them for his adversaries. Locals said, he used a sharp razor-like weapon and headed towards the three youths who had no inkling of what was coming at them. Both Sarbeswar and Rabindra received deep cuts on their throats and had to receive over a dozen stitches. Deepak suffered cut injuries on his body. While Narayan was arrested soon after, the three were rushed to the hospital. Sarbeswar and Rabindra were kept under observation while Narayan was booked for attempt to murder. A case has been registered with Nayapalli Police.ENGG STUDENTS HELD: Police on Sunday night arrested seven students of a private engineering college in two separate incidents. The students were arrested from Satya Nagar and Laxmi Sagar areas of the city following group clashes.
