BANGALORE: The state government has decided to increase the number of beds in the state-owned KR Hospital in Mysore from the present 1,050 to 1,500 beds, Karnataka Legislative Council informed on Monday.During the question hour, Medical Education Minister R Ramadas informed that the hospital collects only nominal user charges from BPL card holders.He informed that the hospital which was designated as an autonomous one would collect Rs 300 for a CT scan against Rs 2,000 to others and the same would continue in the future also.He informed that the state has decided to approach the Medical Council of India to enhance the intake of medical seats by 50. The minister said the state planned to establish Super Speciality Hospitals in Mysore at a cost of Rs 270 crore.The minister announced the state government’s plan to establish laboratory and high-tech research centres at Mysore, Bangalore, Hubli and Dharwad.
