Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday said his government will declare Narmada-Kshipra link at Ujjani village as a "sacred place" and develop it as a religious-cum-cultural centre.
"We will declare Narmada-Kshipra link spot as a sacred place and develop it as a religious-cum-cultural centre," Chouhan told reporters after the state cabinet meeting at Ujjaini village.
The two rivers were linked with an initial investment of Rs 432 crore under the Narmada-Kshipra Simhast River Linking scheme. Senior BJP leader LK Advani will dedicate the scheme to the nation on February 25.
BJP president Rajnath Singh and the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj will also attend the inaugural function, Chouhan said.
"It was a dream come true for us," said Chouhan after the successful linking of the two rivers on February 6. Chouhan said the state government was also studying a DPR (detailed project report) to link Narmada with Gambhir river.

Chouhan said Modi will inaugurate a solar energy plant in Neemuch on February 26. He also said Infosys Chairman NR Narayan Murthy will lay the foundation stone IT SEZ project on February 24.
