New Delhi: As India's Indian Space Research Organisation made history with Mangalyaan successfully entering Mars orbit, United States' National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) congratulated the agency for creating history. NASA's Maven had also reached the orbit of Mars on Tuesday.
"We congratulate ISRO for its Mars arrival! Mars Orbiter joins the missions studying the Red Planet," NASA tweeted soon after ISRO's maiden Mars orbiter Mangalyaan successfully entered Mars orbit.
NASA's 2012 Mars mission Curiosity Rover too congratulated ISRO and even welcomed Mangalyaan on the rd planet. "Namaste, @MarsOrbiter! Congratulations to @ISRO and India's first interplanetary mission upon achieving Mars orbit (sic)," Curiosity Rover tweeted.
It was a truly historic moment for India as the country's first Mars Orbiter Mission, popularly known as Mangalyaan, was successfully placed in the red planet's orbit on Wednesday morning.
ISRO has achieved what no space agency in world including NASA managed to do in their first attempt.
