New technology aid in cancer treatment

BANGALORE: HealthCare Global Enterprises Ltd is planning to introduce the Varian TrueBeam Technology and Siemens PreScision Artiste in cancer treatment. These technologies will help in faster and effective treatment of patients.  Dr B S Ajaikumar, Chairman, HCG, said, “This is for the first time in Asia, we have introduced TrueBeam Technology in Ahmedabad and PreScision Artiste at Bangalore can be used for all types of cancer requiring radiotherapy.”Dr Kumar Swamy, Consultant, Radiation Oncologist, HCG, said, “It is specifically unique in delivering radiotherapy for its precision. Integrated imaging allows respiratory gated treatments which involves tumour tracking of mobile tumours which move with respiration such as lung cancer thereby reducing acute toxicity and brings out maximal therapeutic gain. It offers more convenience for the patient by shortening treatment time.” They claimed this technology is more precise and performs irradiation hitting treatment focus better.
