Follow us:WhatsappFacebookTwitterTelegram.cls-1{fill:#4d4d4d;}.cls-2{fill:#fff;}Google News Two days after a teenage mother killed her two infant daughters, perceiving them to be a barrier to her completion of studies and 'enjoyment', the Child and Students Rights Protection Welfare Society filed petitions in the AP Human Rights Commission and the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to take stern action against the officials concerned, including the commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation for their failure to stop child marriage of the accused and hence, the consequence. In the petition, the Child and Students Rights Protection Welfare Society general secretary V Satyanarayana said that accused Sameena was married to one Yakub Pasha, resident of Addagutta, at the age of 14. She gave birth to two daughters, Samreen(4) and Mahek(2), but her killing proves that she was too immature to contemplate the true meaning of motherhood. "If the officials had strictly implemented the Marriage Registration Act, Government Order no. 5, such an incident would not have happened in the first place,'' he said in the petition.  Satyanarayana also demanded the SHRC and NHRC to take action against the parents of Sameena and her in-laws for performing her wedding. first published:July 23, 2012, 10:08 ISTlast updated:July 23, 2012, 10:08 IST
