Under attack from opposition over law and order situation, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday called for better coordination between the police and judicial system for effective check over crime.
Kumar said this at a seminar cum workshop attended by Chief Justice of Patna High Court Rekha Doshit, Chief Secretary A K Sinha and DGP Abhyanand. Kumar recalled a similar seminar held seven years ago on criminal judicial system which helped in putting effective curb over crime situation in the state.
The wider discussion on how to go after the criminals had helped the state remove fear from mind of people at that time and establish rule of law, he said.
It was discussed that police should complete its investigation on time and produce report in the court which through speedy trial could award punishment to the criminals. He said progress got hampered due to law and order.
