THRISSUR: Union Minister for Corporate Affairs M Veerappa Moily on Saturday said there was no external interference in the case involving the Italian ship Enrica Lexie and the subsequent Union Government’s stand in the case. He said the Additional Solicitor-General Harin Raval’s opinion in the apex court in this regard might be his own in the case.Moily said that the Union Government’s position in this case was in tune with the state government’s. The Union Government had explained its stance on the issue following the report of Raval, he said. If anything needs to be rectified in this case, the Centre will take steps towards that direction, he added. Raval had on Friday told the Supreme Court that India did not have the jurisdiction to detain the Italian ship involved in the killing of the two Indian fishermen, off the coast of Kerala, and the ship was not on Indian waters when the shooting took place.
