New Delhi: An NRI youth was killed on Friday night when he was hit with a heavy object after a scuffle broke out among friends during a party, police said.

According to the police, Anmol Sama (21), who had completed his class 12 from New York and was living in Delhi with his relatives, was found in a pool of blood late on Friday night outside South Park Apartment at Kalkaji area in South Delhi.

"Police reached the spot after a PCR call was received from a passerby. He was rushed to AIIMS where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment at around 2:00 AM," said a police official.

Doctors who attended to him said there was a deep injury mark on Sama's head, which probably was a result of a blow of a heavy object. He died due to excessive loss of blood.

The house in which they were partying belonged to Sama's childhood friend Chikki who was supposed to go to London for higher studies.

As per police, during the party, an argument broke out between the friends which soon snowballed into a scuffle during which Sama was hit on his head with a heavy object.

Police said that in January, Sama had come to Delhi at his grandmother's house in Kalkaji area who now resides in Faridabad, Haryana. The four friends who were partying with him have been detained and a case of murder was registered at Kalkaji police station.

The body of the deceased has been sent for postmortem while the four friends are being questioned, police said.
