Bhubaneswar: In the wake of large vacancies in the state administration, Odisha government on Saturday decided to fill up about 50,000 posts by the end of 2014-15 financial year.
This was decided at a high level meeting presided over by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) UN Behera said on Saturday.
Stating that the government has already started the process for recruitment in 60,937 posts, Behera said 10,000 posts have been filled by now and another 50,000 would be recruited by the March next.
Behera said the posts largely remain vacant in school and mass education, scheduled caste, scheduled tribe development, home, health and family welfare, panchayati raj, works, agriculture, energy, water resources and women and child development departments.
On the issue of appointment of teachers in the tribal dominated KBK (Koraput-Balangir-Kalahandi) region, the meeting resolved to prepare a special policy for early recruitment.
