HUBLI: Veteran journalist Nadoja Patil Puttappa has been discharged from the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital here on Sunday.Puttappa had sustained a fracture neck of femur (hip joint) in the pelvic region after he slipped and fell down at his house. He was admitted to the hospital on August 26. Doctors at the hospital operating upon him had under taken a prosthesis replacement. Speaking to reporters before being discharged, Puttappa appreciated the team of doctors who looked after him.He also lamented that KIMS was being looked under bad light, for treating women patients on the floor admitted to the labour ward. “What should the doctors do if 900 patients get admitted at a hospital which can cater to just 300,” he questioned. Puttappa urged the state to enhance the infrastructure to accommodate 1,000 labor patients and upgrade the facilities in the hospital.
