Varanasi: On the second day of his visit to Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Assi Ghat to participate in a puja on Saturday morning. The PM offered prayers at the ghat.
The PM will later visit the Mata Amritanandmayi Hospital in Varanasi. On Friday, Modi addressed villagers in Jayapur - which he has adopted under the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana. Modi asked villagers to personally take up the development initiative and work towards making their village a better place to live. Modi also attended a textile ministry event where he spoke out about boosting textile sector of Varanasi. Parikshit Luthra with that story
The PM also said that funds to improve the sector will be distributed through the Jan Dhan Yojana. He added that weavers in Varanasi need to take advantage of e-commerce to reach the global market.
