BANGALORE: The Karnataka Police organised a farewell function for senior IPS officer and Director General of Police (DGP) Kuchanna Srinivasan, who retired from the police force on Monday. The function was attended by DG and IGP Neelam Achyut Rao, along with other senior police officials, who turned out in large numbers to show their support for the 1978 batch officer. Srinivasan has worked as Commissioner of Police, Mysore, and has held various posts including vigilance and intelligence positions, besides being the IGP of Lokayukta for three years. He also held the position of Additional Director General of Police and Inspector General of Prisons for one year.Speaking at the function,  Srinivasan spoke about how his experiences in real life added to the knowledge he imbibed in the academy. “I thank my batchmates, especially Shankar Bidari for having given me so many new insights into life and police work,” he said before adding that he had changed houses 18 times in his 34 years of service. “I apologise to my family for all the times I have inconvenienced them and to others also if I may have offended them,” said a very humble Srinivasan towards the end of his speech. He then inspected a march-past put together by various police forces including the Traffic Police, Reserve Police, Law and Order Police and a Women’s police contingent.
