Private school owners in Rajasthan on Thursday held demonstration, saying the fee regulatory committee appointed by the High court is taking decisions in a "biased manner".
"There are large number of schools in the state which are charging nominal fees but the committee is taking decision in a biased manner and without hearing our side," Satyavrat Samvedi, president of Swayamsevi Shikshan Sanstha Sangh, said.
Samvedi also demanded from the committee to hike the school fees by 25 per cent annually so that the schools can meet the expenditure.
On the other hand, Committee chairman Justice Shiv Kumar Sharma, who was appointed on the direction by the Rajasthan High court last year, rejected the allegation saying the school owners did not comply with the committee.
"The committee has regulated fees of above 200 private schools and process to decide fees of other schools is going on," he said.
"We ask the school owners to submit their objection in 30 days and seek their accounts-related documents to check their profits but many of those who protested today did not submit their documents and instead making false allegations," Justice Sharma said.
