Prospective tenants kill housewife, stole gold

HYDERABAD: Two persons, who approached a family posing as prospective tenants killed a housewife and stole Rs. 1.50 lakh gold ornaments from her body at Neredmet on Monday. R Suresh and Surekha are residents of Rambrahma Nagar in Old Neredmet. Suresh, who runs an electrical appliances store in Ranigunj owns a building. The couple along with their son, Lokesh live on the first floor while a portion in the ground floor is vacant. On Monday, Suresh received a call from a person that he wanted to take a look at the portion. According to police, a man and woman came with Surekha and gagged and strangled her to death and stole seven tola gold.The incident came to light at 3.30 p.m when Lokesh returned from school. He went to vacant room to find his mother lying dead. Police are trying to track down the offenders.
