Rajasthan Police's Special Operation Group claimed to have busted an inter-state fake currency racket, with the arrest of one person and recovery of counterfeit currency of over Rs 3.37 lakh from him.

The suspected money carrier, Surjeet Kumar Yadav of Itawa, was arrested with fake currency of Rs 3,37,500 outside Kanpur railway station in a joint operation with Uttar Pradesh police on Sunday, Rajasthan SOG and ATS additional DGP Alok Tripathi said.

A case under sections 489 (b), 489 (c), 467, 468 and 471 of the IPC was registered against him, Tripathi said.

The arrest came weeks after the Special Operation Group carried out raids in Rajasthan's Karauli district on April 17 and arrested three money carriers with fake currency notes worth Rs 59,500.
