Ramya enters Parliament, movie producer and hero left in the lurch
People close to Ramya say that she does not want to play the role of a young woman any longer.

Bangalore: This real life incident can be made into a film. Heroine of a film suddenly becomes a member of the Parliament (MP) and refuses to continue in the lead role. The hero, who is also a politician from the opposition party alleges betrayal and demands that the heroine cum MP should bear the expenses of the movie.

The Kannada cinema (Sandalwood) is witnessing one such drama being unfolded.

Famous heroine Ramya was shooting for a movie 'Neer Dose'. The hero Jaggesh is a BJP leader. Ramya is from the ruling Congress. She got Congress ticket from Mandya in the Lok Sabha by-poll held in last August and won.

When Jaggesh approached her requesting her to complete the movie, she refused. According to Jaggesh, she told him that she was busy with party meetings and constituency work.

An angry Jaggesh said, "it is highly unethical. She can't refuse to complete the movie, just because she got elected to the Parliament. She must remember that, she was an actress before that. The film industry has made her what she is today."

He is now demanding that if Ramya does not complete the movie, she should pay Rs 4 crore spent on the movie so far.

Jaggesh said 'so far 60% of the movie shooting is over. Will Ramya pay that? I want her to pay. Otherwise the producer will be in deep trouble'.

Even though Ramya is not officially reacting to it, people close to her say that she does not want to play the role of a young woman any longer. They say she fears that it can ruin her political career.

Ramya is now concentrating on the general election to Lok Sabha to be held before May 2014 and feels that movie is not so important than her political career. The 31 years old Ramya is the youngest MP in the Parliament.

Jaggesh is a former MLA. He was the vice chairman of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) under the BJP rule.

Film industry experts feel that Ramya's refusal to continue in films will open the doors for more and more north Indian heroines.

Ramya has been selected for the prestigious Karnataka State Film Awards for the year 2010-11. She has got the 'best actress' award for her film 'Sanju Weds Geetha'.

The evergreen beauty Suman Ranganath is also acting in 'Neer Dose'.

According to a movie portal the shooting of 'Neer Dose' had started in March this year, but due to the unavailability of Ramya, they paused the shooting in August. Now, the rumours of Ramya not acting in the movie has become a nightmare for the crew.
