KOCHI: The Ghala Golf Course in Muscat, which was re-designed and re-built by the public sector consultancy organisation KITCO, was handed over to the Oman Government in December.The Oil and Gas Ministry-owned Ghala Golf Course is the first ever golf course in the Middle East to be set-up by an Asian consultancy. “Redesigning and upgrading the forty-year-old course that spreads across 133 acres along a dried up river-bed with high ridges and steep slopes was a real challenge,” KITCO MD Cyriac Davies said. KITCO chairman A X Joseph, MD Cyriac Davies, project co-coordinator G Rakesh and golfing expert Major General (Rtd) Jacob Koshy received certificates of acclamation from Mohamed bin Hamad Al Rumhy, Minister of Oil and Gas, Sultanate of Oman.
