HYDERABAD: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu has predicted that the next government at the Centre would be one whose quintessence would be “cooperative federalism” which would be better than the present government.Speaking reporters on Wednesday, Naidu said Congress popularity declined in the country and the outcome of elections in five states proved that. The BJP did not improve either. “TDP has been in touch with the all other regional parties. The regional parties are gaining strength. We have to wait and see how the third front will take shape in the national politics,” Naidu said. He was sure that the next government would be a federal government comprising regional parties.Naidu said the voters in the state too would give decisive mandate to TDP in the next elections as the voters did in West Bengal, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Bihar and other states.“People voted out governments involved in corruption,” Naidu said, adding UP voters rejected Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. He said he was ready to work with the like-minded parties both in the State and at the Centre.Asked about his son Lokesh entering active politics like Mulayam Singh’s son Akhilesh, Naidu evaded a direct reply. When a scribe remarked that “Mulayam is 72 and Naidu is just 62. There is ten years for Lokesh,” Naidu gave a chuckle of delight. “You are posing a question and answering it too,” Naidu said.NO-TRUST MOVE AGAINST SPEAKER?Expressing serious displeasure over the functioning of the State Legislative Assembly, Chandrababu Naidu said Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy lacked leadership and Speaker Nadendla Manohar had no sense of being accountable to the people. “Both of them are making the House mockery,” Naidu said. Naidu said he was exploring all options against the Speaker. TDP sources said Naidu was even mulling the option of moving a no-confidence motion against the Speaker. Naidu was furious over the abrupt adjournment of the House without concluding the short discussion on power. Naidu informed the Speaker that he was prepared to speak on the short discussion on Wednesday itself. But, the House was adjourned without giving an opportunity to Naidu. Naidu would not attend the House for one week from Monday as he would be touring districts as part of bypoll campaign.
