HYDERABAD: The division bench of the High Court comprising chief justice Madan B Lokur and justice PV Sanjay Kumar on Monday took on file two writ petitions filed by Satyanarayana, a former member of the AP Public Service Commission, questioning the failure of the state government to exclude politically advanced communities from the group of OBCs for the purpose of reservation in political offices. The petitioner said that consequent upon a judgment of the Supreme Court the state government was required to conduct an independent study or enquiry and ensure that the reservation is properly used. The bench granted four weeks’ time to the government to respond. The bench also adjourned hearing on separate petitions questioning reservation for Backward Classes.
