New Delhi: Designer Reynu Tandon is aiming to break the barriers of habitual beach wear with her resort wear collection that includes the saree.
Known for her innovative designs, her nine-yard drape was showcased at the fourth day of the Wills Lifestyle India fashion week here today.
"It may sound strange that a resort wear collection has saree in it, but I must say resort wear doesn't restrict itself into short dresses and Kaftans, rather it can be anything which is comfortable," the designer said after her
presentation.
"I have specially designed these lycra sarees keeping in mind the comfort factor when one is holidaying. They are crushed free and at the same time highlight the curvaceous female body. I got this idea when I was in a cruise in the Caribbean island and I was asked to wear something which is country's traditional wear," she said.
The colour palate based predominantly on subtle shades like blues, whites and greens, the range provided a rich look to the entire collection which also saw kaftans and tunics.
"My collection actually aims to break the barriers of habitual beach wear, rather it focuses more on the style. Bathed with embroideries, the garments are comfortable for summer," Tandon said.
The price range of the collection starts from Rs 9,000.
