Rituparna Bereaved

Rituparna Sengupta’s father Prabir Kumar Sengupta passed away on July 18 in Kolkata.

He died due to multiple organ failure. He was 69. The actress was launched by Hema Malini in the telefilm Mohini in the late 80s.

“Hemaji had called my dad and convinced him to get me into films. She wanted him to fly with me for the shoot. But he had problem with high altitude. So Hemaji made sure he came by train,” recollects Rituparna.
