Sahasra Chandi ends on Friday

KOCHI: The 11-day Sahasra Chandi Mahayagnam being performed on the premises of the Thekke Matom Dharma Sastha Temple at Mattanchery will conclude on Friday with ‘Poornahuthy’ and ‘Vasordhara.’ The day’s rites and rituals will begin with ‘Ganapati Puja’ at 6 am.It will be followed by the recital of ‘Devi Mahatmyam’ (Durga Sapthasathi), ‘Navavarana Homam’ and ‘Mahasahasra Chandika Homam.’ The ‘Poornahuthy’ and the subsequent ‘Vasordhara’ are expected to be performed around 12.30 pm.It will be followed by ‘Kalasabhishekam’ for Lord Dharma Sastha, the presiding deity of the temple at Thekke Matom, according to the organisers of the homam.
