Update: Samsung Galaxy Golden with two 3.7-inch screens launched at Rs 51,900 in India
New Delhi: Samsung is expected to launch its dual-screen Galaxy Golden smartphone in India. The phone has a clamshell design and has two 3.7-inch Super AMOLED touchscreens - one on the outside and one inside.
A mobile phone retailer from Mumbai tweeted about its arrival. He informed us, "the MRP of the device will be Rs 53890, and the MOP will be somewhere around Rs 51,500." He further said, "we will sell it for Rs 49,900." The retailer expects the device to go on sale from next week.
When contacted Samsung to check about its credibility, an official spokesperson from the company confirmed and hinted the device will be announced this week - probably in a day or two. The spokesperson refused to share details about its pricing and availability.
The Samsung Galaxy Golden, which was unveiled in Korea in August, has a dual 3.7-inch Super AMOLED screens, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, a 1.7GHz dual-core processor and an 8MP camera.
