Paris: Shiv Kapur recovered from an indifferent start to return a card of even par 71 that kept him in with a chance of a good finish at the Alstom Open de France golf tournament here.
Kapur hit three bogeys in six holes from fourth to the ninth, but a third round 71 eventually saved the day for the Indian.
Kapur, who missed the Tour Card last year but has managed good number of starts, is now one-under 212 for three rounds and lying tied 13th.
Jeev Milkha Singh, who was tied eighth on the first day, is now tied 46th after rounds of 74 and 75 on second and third days. He is four-over 217 for three days.
Meanwhile, David Howell (67) and Anders Hansen (69) share the lead heading into the final round.
Kapur birdied the first and third, but bogeys on fourth and fifth and then another on ninth set him back. He bogeyed yet again on the 13th but birdies on 14th and 18th helped him salvage the round for a 70.
Jeev struggled with three birdies, five bogeys and one double bogey in his four-over round.
Hansen and George Coetzee (70) were at the top of the leaderboard on a day when play was interrupted for 35 minutes by a brief thunderstorm.
While Hansen dropped shots on 16th and 17th, Coetzee dropped three shots in the space of six holes. That allowed Howell, now ranked only 350th in the world, to make a move which he did with a 67 that had five birdies and just one bogey.
Overnight leader Marcel Siem struggled to 73 and dropped to tied fourth at four-under 209.
